From the Sognefjord over the Sognefjell and via Lom to Geiranger and the Trollstigen. On to Oppdal and at full speed towards Trondheim and Afjord

A typical case of insatiability :) In the late morning I ride along the Lustrefjord and meet two Spanish cyclists who still want to ride up the Sognefjelveien, so I simply join them... showers, drifts of fog and Spanish sun alternate on the climb in Wittgenstein’s footsteps. Up top a bit of up and down before it drops into the valley to Lom.

The next day it goes on in the rain to the stave church of Lom and a long climb towards the Geirangerfjord. I skip the side road to the Dalsnibba, it is hiding in clouds. The descent is quick in a few hairpins and the next climb is already visible :)

The wish for better weather came true in the afternoon; at first it was pea-soup fog up to the Eagle’s Nest, which is still about 600 m of climbing. The Trollstigen and Åndalsnes then spread joy. In the morning everything was still biting me, and in the evening there was great contentment; that is how it goes with cycling for me now and then :)

Because of some tunnel works a road was completely closed and I had to go into the Sunndalen to Oppdal. After that the way sometimes looked familiar: along the E6 towards Trondheim, a short ferry, and on to a campsite in Afjord, where I met two cyclists from Regensburg travelling very light on road bikes.
